The BEST green smoothie I've ever had! Tastes like CHOCOLATE COOKIE!

Despite the fact that this super healthy green smoothie contains Spirulina, it tastes like chocolate biscuit! It makes you feel satisfied for hours but it doesn't make you bloated.

This recipe was inspired by my visit to one of the local cafes. I changed it up a little bit to make it healthier, you'll get a really filling and delicious shake.

Spirulina

Spirulina Powder is full of functional nutrients. This superfood is a type of algae which contains all essential amino acids in a form easier to digest than many other proteins.

Spirulina contains a wealth of antioxidants and immune boosting nutrients. My favorite brand of Spirulina is Earth Circle Organics because it's certified organic and cold-processed for maximum potency.

Maca

Maca is a root vegetable which increase energy, reduce fatigue and improve libido.

"Ancient Incan warriors were legendary for consuming generous amount of maca in preparation for battle, significantly maximizing their stamina and energy levels."

Maca is an adaptogen. It helps us to adapt to and regulate stress responses and balance hormones.

Cacao
Cacao contains rich supply of antioxidants and dietary fiber.

Antioxidants help fight off free radical damage in the body which can cause DNA damage. One ounce serving of cacao nibs contains 9 grams of fiber. This can help keep bowel movements regular, lower blood cholesterol and control your blood pressure and blood glucose levels.

Cacao is also full of magnesium and potassium. These minerals are very key elements for the body.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon is an anti-inflammatory, in part due to its cinnamaldehyde content. This incredible spice also boosts brain function.

Cinnamon reduces blood glucose concentration and enhances insulin sensitivity. It slows the emptying of your stomach to reduce sharp rises in blood sugar following meals. It also improves the effectiveness, or sensitivity, of insulin.
